A lot has been changed in West Africa since the demise of
Swissair, Sabena and AirAfrique .
New companies are coming and going, for the time being it is very difficult to
hold this page updated.
Also there is no longer the possibility to fly via Togo with KLM.
Aeroflot, in earlier times the bigest company with most of
destinations over the the world, serves today neither Bénin nor Togo.
Cotonou is actually being served from Europe by :
AirFrance,
(ca. 600* - 1'500 EUR),
4 times weekly, Mo, We, Fr & So, with connections in Paris to
many European cities.
(Since 2007 only 4 times a week, Sa has been cancelled).
Attention, there is no flight at Thursday, this is a technical
flight to Lomé, it stops at Cotonou, but only for the
personnel of AirFrance!
Please note : A new luggage system has been introduced since
1st of November 2005, 2 pieces of each 23 kg (or 32kg in
Business Class) are allowed.
Each of the two pieces may weight up to 32 kg (Economic), then a
supplementary tax of 50 EUR is applicable for each of them.
Additionally Notebook and Handluggage up to 12 kg.
An aditionally tax has to be paid for a third piece of luggae up to
23/32 kg of 125 EUR (23kg), respectively 175 EUR (32kg).
*) Flightrates down to 600 EUR can be found in the internet, but they
are very well hidden. Try a flight reservation 15 to 30 days in advance
and a stay from one weekend to 30 days!
Examples of prices :
Paris (CDG) <==> Cotonou (COO), 28.02.2007 - 30.03.2007, 786.16 EUR, Request @ 20.01.2007

Tips for travellers from Switzerland and Germany : If you travel from "Basel Mulhouse MLH" (the french side) or from
"Strasburg SXW", you pay 100 up to 200 Euro(!) less, than if you
check in on the Swiss side (BSL), respectively flying from
Frankfurt.

Afrique Airlines (afriqueairlines.net), vormals auch Air Togo (airtogo.net) oder Air Togo (DE) does not fly anymore since mid March 2005 !
The service and the behaviour towards the clients was beyond any
discription ! Not to be recommended at all. The flights have been served
by "Eagle Aviation" (http://www.eagle-aviation.net).

New Company apearing in the last time, no experience up to now.

service all the year.

• Afrique Airlines
or

- We do not recommend flights with a change of airplane in Lagos
(Nigeria) for newcomers in Africa.
- There are a lot of inner-african flights, specially from and
to countries of West Africa.
- There are no flights inside of Bénin, the only other airport
is in Parakou (for small aircraft only).
